Confused Essential Tremor and Propanalol treatment

My neurologist gave me a 2000 mg iv treatment of solu-medrol (steroid) and then a 3 wk checkup. That was after my first visit with him. With no reduction in tremors, he started me on propanalol. 10 mgs,3x a day. He told me that id be lucky to see my tremors go away by 40%.. "if i was lucky" . I know none of you can see my but my tremors are extremely visible, and I've had them for 8 years. Last year was when they really amplified. doc knows its caused many problems with friendships/jobs/father of my children since divorce and even strangers being accused of drugs. regardless of how many drug tests id taken to prove i wasn't on anything. my question is..what's the point of taking propanalol? Help please!! It hasn't reduced my tremors at all and I've been taking it 3 wks.
