Default Head injury lasting two months :(

I received a concussion about two months and a week ago, and I am starting to wonder if it will ever go away.

I was hit multiple times in during my lacrosse game. I play women's lacrosse so we do not wear helmets.I did not lose consciousness The only concussion side effect that I have had is a headache. It usually isn't that bad but doesn't seem to be getting any better.

I have not been drinking or working out. I have been drinking lots of water, eating healthy and limiting my computer, phone and tv use.

This has lasted far to long in my opinion, if anyone has advice on how I can help my concussion heal please share. Also could I do yoga or anything to help burn calories?

Hi Sammi,

It sounds like you have post concussion syndrome. Have you been to a sports med doc? I feel your frustration. I've been suffering with post concussion syndrome for about 2 years now. Part of the reason it's taking me so long to heal, is that I didn't follow the doctor's orders initially after my concussion. It sounds like you're doing all the right things, but if the symptoms are still lingering, you should really see a neurologist. Nutrition is key right now, too. Lots of fruits, veggies and get some fish oil. Not the pills... the gross stuff you have to drink. It's like liquid gold for your brain.

I know every head injury is different, but my physical therapist told me not to do any yoga, or anything strenuous until I'm 100% healed as it can set you back.

I hope that helps. If you have any questions about things that have worked for me, I'd be happy to answer them.

Danielle
