Smile BigR45 Says hello!

I found this support group and was enthused with the feedback that that was offered by people with similar problems. I joined the group to get feedback and offer any suggestions with my experiences.

I have had PN for about 15 years. I am in my mid 60's. Over a year ago I developed tinnitus. I went to the Mayo Clinic every few years for check ups. My bloodwork is good. The only thing they could attribute my PN to was alcohol. I have abstained from alcohol, but the tingling has gone up above my ankles just recently. Sometimes the burning sensation on my feet gets severe. It may be a reaction to the PN but I get headaches and a sick feeling. I can feel awful sometimes and have a difficult time focusing and working. I do exercise regularly walking or bike riding several miles. If I get too much exercise it tends to aggravate it. I do eat a pretty healthy diet with little fat and. Currently I take a multivitamin and minerals by Karuna and alpha lipoid acid (600 mg/day). I also take .5 mg clonazapam in the evening for sleep.

I do not do good with any of the antidepressants to ease the pain. They make me dopey. The doctor has given me Cymbalta and lyrica to name a few.

I am interested in nerve regeneration and have read articles that it cannot be done and others that say yes. I read several posts that were interesting and was especially interested in a post that was done 9/20/06 by Wing42 and his regain for supplements.

I would sure like to hear some feedback about supplements or any successs stories. Thanks for sharing!
