Hello my name is Terry & I have lost my way, including my sanity ( I think). In Dec of 2010 I was in a work related accident in which I received many broken bones including a skull fracture. after a year and a half of workmans comp and physical therapy my employer fired me. A year after that my wife left me and all my so called friends gradually disappeared. I have mostly recovered from my accident but am left with a severe hearing loss on the side of my fracture and have a constant loud hum in my head on said side. I received an hearing aid to help compensate for my loss of hearing for which I am grateful but still have the constant hum. Due to my loss of employment I cannot afford to see any doctors and I can't find anyone to hire me. I have no moral support from anyone and could sure use some advice. I am 52 yrs old and feel that my age is not helping in my employment search at all, I am considering going to school to make myself more valuable to any potential employers, but don't know if I can hack it with this constant humming in my head. I have considered suicide in many occasions. I am very confused because I feel I have nowhere to turn nor anyone to talk to. I will gladly answer any questions or take any suggestions or advice any one might have

Hi Terry and welcome to NeuroTalk.
I'm so sorry for all that you've been through. We have a Traumatic Brain Injury forum that I think might help you. Here is the link http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum92.html. There are usually others there who can relate to your circumstances and give helpful advice. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
