Confused newbie after help!!

Hi, I've joined this site as I am hoping someone may help me! I am 42, was born with spina bifida occulta, had several surgeries as a child, then nothing till 21 when had cord detethered and drainage of benign cyst (syringomyelia) then same op five years ago as symptoms reoccurred. Am now for the most part well, however having lots of pain in knee, and also dizzy spells when standing up after sitting, with "whooshing" sound in my ears along with the dizzyness - like the sound you get when you keep moving a seashell into and out of your ear, if that makes sense! doc says knee pain is nothing to do with back, more likely a sports injury as its not sciatic type pain. offers no explanation as to dizzyness/whooshing and isnt really interested in me!! my first adult surgery took two years to diagnose with me going back and forth to docs with odd symptoms, passing out when sneezing, knee pain etc, think docs decided i was a hypocondriac until i forced them to do an MRI then they rushed me in for surgery within a few days!! Guess I wasnt making it up then guys was I ... anybody experienced this "whooshing" sensation and did docs get to the bottom of it?? thank you xx

I have not, but apparently some other people have, and have gotten to the bottom of it. Here are some articles to peruse and see if any of it (pardon the expression ) sounds like what you're hearing/describing.

whooshing sound in ears
