Hi... I am Paul. I have or they think I have neuropathy caused by diabetes. Ive had diabetes for 4 yrs now and then tingling. pain, numbness is increasing quite noticeably. I think the stereotype medical vision is less than desirable so I have a question or many. Does the Neuropathy Support Formula work or is it just another online scam?

Welcome Paul,

There are many many threads/posts in the Peripheral Neuropathy forum about Neuropathy Support Formula which you can find by using the search function.

My own opinion about it is that while not a total scam, it's overpriced for what's in it, and its promises may be overstated.

Everyone's PN (including diabetics) is different, so there is no one-size-fits-all formula or treatment. There are recommended tests that you should get (if you haven't already) like B12, magnesium and a few others I'm not recalling off the top of my head, but they're all talked about a lot in the forum. Then there are many supplements depending on what you need, some of which are in the Neuropathy Support Formula (though perhaps not in the best ratio for you), that can be gotten separately for much less, and tailored to your specific needs.

Doc

Default Hello Paul

Welcome to Neuro Talk. There will be alot of people to lend an ear in the PN forum. I have it also. I use a combination of therapies. Vitamines are at the list. B12 in particular. I use a compounded cream with Ketamine in it. Patches with lidocane, bio freeze, and yes, some narcotics when I have trouble walking. All these therapies have helped. I am sure others will tell you what has provided some relief. Sorry you have this Paul, it isn't fun. There are many good folks on NT that can help you through the hard spots. Again Welcome to the site. Feel free to navigate to any place you want. Ginnie

Hi Paul, I have had diabetes for 26 years and suffer from neuropathy for at least 10 years. Even with my blood sugars in control, the burning pain in the feet is worsening. Yes, you will feel numbness more and more in the feet. They told me if I lost at least 30 pounds and stopped smoking I would get better. I stopped smoking every winter for at least 3 months. I diet and manage to lose 5 pounds then put them back on. It is a continual struggle. Just this year I found a marvelous web site (canoe... something) that gives very simple and clear info on Meds. That is when I learned that 3 or 4 medications I was on caused a weight gain. I have stopped taking 2 of those against my doctor's advice. I figured that taking 19 pills a day was not the life I had dreamed on when I retired a couple of years ago. The damage to my feet, legs and fingers is there to stay. So, I take Gabapentin for the pain. I had tried Lyrica but too many bad effects like memory loss, fever, ear ache, slurring my words and no balance on my feet. People thought I was drinking too much! Have a good day. Try not to believe everything the doctor tells you. I learned more from the different web sites.
