Hello again.
Came here a few yrs ago cause hubby was having problems(constant tremors and a hole in his foot). Did finally get him to go back to the doctor, took three years for them to figure out his foot wouldn't heal because he had a blown vein in his leg. Got that fixed and his foot has finally healed. The tremors have gone from constant to just sometimes. but now we're dealing with the stuff that had me ready to leave. This is hard to write. About 15 yrs ago he went from being a great guy to being abusive. Get mad about some tiny thing and cuss me out, then if i said anything about it he'd say i was nuts(lots of other stuff too). He had gotten a lot more aggressive and it got to the point i was afraid he'd hit me or the kids, So in September I kicked him out. Got to talking to him afterwards and found out he had no idea he had done any of that stuff. We figured out some interesting stuff. He'd say stuff or get mad and yell at one of us about something and not remember it two minutes later. he'd do odd things that didn't make any sense at all. Like ask our oldest daughter if she wanted to play on his computer, then 5-10 minutes later get mad and yell at her that it's his comp and he should be able to use it any time he wants, and she needs to quit being selfish. He doesn't remember doing that, and it doesn't even make sense to him why he'd do that. He gets easily confused, gets upset and cannot calm himself down, needs help with things he used to be able to do with no trouble. Up until a couple years ago he was the go to guy for anyone in the family that had computer problems now he calls me so he can tell me what's going on with the computer so I can tell him what's wrong with it and how to fix it. So i told him to come home on the condition that we get him into a neuro and find out what's going on his health is more important then my comfort level. So far things are going ok a few odd things but better then it was. We've had one appointment with a neurologist, no dx yet but working on it. since he's been back home he's had a few episodes of some kind, one night he insisted on cooking supper when he could hardly stand up, afterwards he said he felt like he was drunk, knew what was going on just didn't have any control over it. other stuff like that. And we figured out what possibly started all of it. He had an incident when he was working about 15 yrs ago where he broke his nose. at the time he told me he dropped a pallet on his nose. didn't find out till he told a friend about it at the beginning of the month that there was a lot more to it. he actually dropped the pallet on the back of his head and it drove his face into a concrete dock. he was pretty much out on his feet for a while. he wasn't checked for anything they had him taken to the hospital stitched up and sent home. Thought i'd let the people that were so nice last time i was here know what's going on. |

![]() I'm sorry to hear of these mysterious symptoms your husband is having and how frustrating this must be. I'm wondering if he is suffering from some type of dementia symptoms? We have a forum here on that topic. It's not one of the 'busier' forums, but there's information there that might be helpful. His accident happened so long ago, so I don't know if the Traumatic Brain Injury/Concussion Forum would be of help. Here's the link to take you there. I'm sure you'll get good feedback on some possibilities.. .http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/fo...aysprune=&f=92 I hope you will begin to get some answers SOON Caring, Rae ![]() |

Thank you for the welcome Rae.
Hubby is 39. What's going on with him is a lot more then just issues with his memory. His personality changed some after the accident at work, and things just got worse from there(just didn't realize it was anything more then hubby being a jerk). Neuro wants a lot of blood work done, he has had an EEG and an MRI both came back normal. Neuro did say some of the things might be caused by seizures. Thank you for the link. Seems as good a place to start as any, there's just so much going on. I could almost write a book trying to get it all down. |
