Default Chronic Back Pain Has Me Isolating

Hi, I found myself in need of an outlet for sharing with other chronic pain sufferers because I could use the support of others who are dealing with the challenges of being debilitated. Right now I'm scared about what the future of my life will be because I'm not able to work and am suffering with depression and am not able to get surgery or treatment that will get me well enough to work and give up the pains med's. Hope to meet and discuss how others are coping.

Thanks for the anticipated reply's

Default Welcome Modsquad :)

Nice to meet u .... my chronic pain is from small fiber neuropathy in my feet. Pain is 24/7.....it ebbs and flows all day long. I don't drive unless absolutely necessary, can't cook, clean or basically leave the house....this coming from a former supermom, grandmother and professional. I got laid off from my job of 26 years last sept.

I wake up everyday, see the sun shining and am glad I'm here. I've only been dealing with this for a little over 6 months (resulting from diabetes and chemo).

Not sure how much help that is but I'm here to listen. I'm on and off this site all day long.

You will be receiving many more replies behind mine with lots of good info. The people on this site are amazing.

Talk to u soon

Debi from Georgia

Default hi modsquad

I have empathy for your pain. I have had back pain off and on for many years. Some doctors said it was due to Lyme's, arthritis, getting older, Parkinson's, etc. Long ago a chiropractor told me I have scoliosis, but wasn't serious. So I ignored it as long as possible. Do you have scoliosis? If so, I recommend watching this
I can't post the link because I'm new here but if you search youtube for Ed Paget, osteopath. He has posted exercise videos that seem to be helping me.

Welcome....I also felt the need to talk to people so I came back recently. It's a good place to vent or ask questions. I also have back pain due to layers upon layers of internal scar tissue to do 3 back surgeries. I can't sit for more then 2 minutes. I haven't worked since 2006. I have more pains then my back. I know how u feel. I hope you find some relief soon.

Heather

I don't have a answer , but I certainly can relate . 7 herniated disks + countless other injuries. The best I've been able to do so far is motion exercise in a pool. Laughter -at myself, then shared with others. Your not Alone ! Is there a PAIN MANAGEMENT GROUP YOU CAN JOIN? Acupuncture? Try everything your worth it.

Hi Modsquad,

Sorry to hear of your suffering. Being debilitated can be very depressing. The depession comes with not only the chronic pain but the financial situation we are thrown into when we can no longer perform our job duties.

Have you had any treatements of any kind other than pain meds? Would you be willing to share more about your pain and its origin? Do you have a diagnosis? Do not feel obligated to answer these questions if you do not wish to share. They are asked only in the hopes that people with your specific condition(s) can share some insights with you.

We are here to help in any way we can. If you just need an ear, we are here. Welcome, and hope you can find solace and friends that may help.
