Thanks for the introduction! You'll find that there are many caring people here and it's such a great place for support.
I've been on the Fentanyl patch for a few years and must say that it's been very good to me. Not having to take so many pills and getting a constant stream of the medication is what I like about it. It may take a bit to get used to and be aware of the dangers.

Make yourself right at home! I hope you will get some answers regarding the back spurs and other conditions you are faced with.
