I dont understand what is going on. My doctor wont explain anything to me.
I was just informed that my paraneoplastic panel was negative but I tested positive for N type calcium channel AB. My name is Jeff, I am 50 and very scared. |

I know that it is almost always associated with small cell lung cancer. I have read other things that it is associated with as well but they all classify this as PNS. I dont know why the nurse that called me said negative for pns but positive for N type. I have no cough no blood no weight loose just tingling in my legs and fatigue. I dont even know what I am asking really. The doctor ordered P/Q ab serum test. I wish that they would tell me something. This is horrifying |

He said something on the order of a salt inclusion or formation in the test?
At any rate his MA told me that they are testing me for the P/Q just to be safe Does that make any sense to anyone? |

Hi, I used to be a chemist. I would need more information and am not familiar with that particular test, but there could be a salt factor conversion or something like it. Your doctor might be telling you that it was a math error in the original reporting of your lab result.
