I just bumped into and joined this site. I was diagnosed with cervical stenosis and a reversed curve to my cervical spine 5 years ago, due to complaint of numbness from toes to top of legs, and in three outer fingers each hand. I did try tightrope walking at age 5 and landed on the back of my head, torquing my neck forward - maybe the beginning of things. And 40 years of severe neck-bending yoga exercises finally led to the numbness (I believe), along with 35 years of cutting and splitting the winter's firewood and other heavy lifting.
UNM neurology said I wasn't numb. Recently I discovered that conclusion, based on EMG and other large fiber testing, probably meant I havee small fiber neuropathy. When erythromelalgia symptoms appeared, I felt it was pretty sure. I've been reading ever since on the nervous system, and any research articles I can find. And I'm hoping this site takes me even further! Thanks, Jane |
