Hi there! I'm new here and wanted to inquire about an event that happened last night. My boyfriend tripped on a cord and hit his head on the edge of a wood table. He got a little gash and some swelling and i'm fairly sure he suffered a mild concussion as he has the general symptoms ie: dizziness, slowed and slurred speech, balance problems, etc. However, he also had a strange behavioral symptom. He would frequently leave my bedroom and when he came back in he would rearrange or "organize" items in my room. He would make little piles of items in various areas of my room and take one item and move it to a different area of the room for seemingly no reason. I'm pretty sure he also "hid" several innocuous objects in different places around the room. This was completely uncharacteristic behavior for him and i asked him why he was doing it he wasn't able to vocalize any sensible reason and later when i asked what he was thinking when he was doing it he said "nothing" I'm not concerned so much as curious if anyone has ever experienced something similar or could possibly offer some insight into why he behaved this way. Also I wrote virtually the same post earlier but have yet to see it show up on the forum so i rewrote it and will feel kinda silly if basically the same post shows up twice but I'm not familiar with posting on forums and am not even sure if i'm posting in the write section, therefore i apologize for possible multiple posts in the wrong section.

Since this just happened yesterday it's too early to tell if there will be any lingering issues. Insults to the brain can cause all sorts of odd behavior, as signals through the synapses are disrupted.

Things to watch for over the next few days: headaches, dizziness, blurry vision, vomiting, balance problems, speech problems (confusion, word finding difficulties, etc.). If these symptoms continue to present a visit to the ER is in order.

Most (~ 85%) concussions resolve themselves with no residual affects.

Ok guys now I'm worried. It's been probably close to 2 days since the incident. Not only have his cognitive functions improved at all but he has been crying pretty consistently for the past 24 hours. I tried to talk him into going to the walk in clinic but he says the last time he had one and went to the ER they told him that there was nothing they could do for him and that he should just go home and sleep so now he refuses to go. I'm not really sure what to do at this point...
