Hello Everyone

I have just joined your forum, as I was looking for a community I could share and read experiences from people in a similar situation as we are today. We are currently living in France, building our own house, and setting up our own businesses. Just before Christmas last year, my husband, who is nearly 45, finally went to the docs, having been feeling tired, unsteady and just not himself for quite some time.We had just put it down to overwork, stress etc. Various tests later, he has been diagnosed early stages Parkinsons, which has come as quite a shock, given his age. I need to now help him come to terms with what he has, keep him positive, and look at healthy eating, a healthy lifestyle, and learn as much as I can to help him cope with the symptoms, remain active, and able to work for as long as we can. We are constantly looking for new research being done, and new treatments etc, so any help, advice and experiences you all have will be very much appreciated.
Looking forward to getting to know you all, and sharing your thoughts and experiences.

Hi Jesse G,
Welcome to the NeuroTalk Support Groups.

Here is the link to the Parkinson's Disease Forum where you should be able to get some direction.

Note there are Info. threads at the top of the regular forum titled "Sticky". e.g. To the newly diagnosed

For specific info on diet etc., it's sometimes worth doing a Forum Search for specific words e.g. diet.

take care there.

Also we have a member from France doing a special nicotine
treatment there.

This is his profile link:
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/member.php?u=23338

If you go to the profile and click on the statistics tab, his posts will be listed for you.

Being a new member you cannot Private Message yet, but you can post on the PD forum and ask questions on any thread you find or make a new thread. You will get PM functions soon.

He uses nicotine patches in a special protocol in France.
