Default EMG Test

Has anyone had an EMG test? I am suppose to have one next week on my left leg, low back, upper extremities, and neck. I have done a lot of research on the internet but still am a lot concerned about this procedure. I have read a lot of horror stories about people having this test and becoming paralyzed, nerve damage and etc. Much fear of this test!
