Hi, I am glad to see that a forum such as this exists. I have surgery on 6/7, and I am not too sure what to expect afterwards. Am I going to be able to care for my children? Am I going to be able to care for myself? As a teacher, should I expect to be able to return to work in August? Any insight would be helpful and most appreciated.

What kind of surgery? Even brain and spine surgeries differ widely in recovery time.

Chiari Type ! Malformation (brain surgery). Interestingly enough, I have been diagnosed (possibly misdiagnosed) with MS. I'm hoping that this surgery puts an end to the MS diagnosis, and all of it's symptoms.

It is a complicated surgery. My son has ACM I and so far, no surgery, but I know it can take awhile before life gets more normal again. Try these sites: www.ASAP.org www.chiarione.org www.conquerchiari.org www.WACMA.com Someone there should be able to give you some personal experience and insight. Good luck! LIZARD |
