Default New here and still waiting on diagnosis

Hello there,

I have been reading posts on this site and and find you are all kind and supportive.

I am looking for suggestions and ideas.

I have not been feeling well for quite some time. I had back to back respiratory viruses in the early part of this year. Two months ago I was under a lot of stress, became very fatigued, and never recovered from the fatigue.

Went to GP who said I was having after effects of a virus. He ordered some general blood tests which were normal.

I went back a half week later because I developed imbalance when standing and tingling sensations in my face and extremities. GP still said after effects of virus.

Went to ENT the next week. He diagnosed labyrinthitis was causing the imbalance and gave meds which didn't help.

Twelve days ago saw neurologist who didn't have much to offer yet, except that he didn't think I have MS, but wanted to rule it out. He did say it could be the after effects of a virus.

Chiropractor also says could be the after effects of a virus.

A week ago had brain and c-spine MRI. I am still waiting on results. Neurologist keeps pushing out my appointment and won't discuss results over the phone. This is very frustrating.

Has anyone ever heard of "after effects of a virus" causing these types of symptoms? I cannot find any information online that supports this theory.

Thanks for your help.

Michele

You should be able to request the written MRI report, then you can look up anything that might be showing on it , to have better questions at the up coming appt.

2 months of fatigue and some symptoms could be virus related, hard to say for certain.
Have you looked at upping your nutrition & any vitamins or supplements to help get you back to normal?

Some nutritional info in the sticky threads here-

Or perhaps a naturopathic doc might be of help.

Angry virus and havoc

hello...I had a very bad virus in 2000 left me with walking difficulties x 3 months ...2011...severe virus...went as far as having an angiogram..all clear but left me fatigued and breathless for 7 months...2010I had left leg weakness
then in 2012 right leg foot and leg drag...after 2 years of twitches and everything else..all MS symptoms...I am using a walker and still have NO diagnosis....so I am beginning to think 'yes' viruses can reek havoc to our systems! good luck to both of us.

Thanks Jo*mar. I requested the report. They said it could take 3 business days. I have been making alterations to my nutrition and I will check out the links you recommended.

Jo*mar Thanks for your response. I am still figuring out how to navigate this site and I think the last post I sent went nowhere. I called for my MRI report and should have it in three business days.
