I am interested in finding out the long term affects of shock treatments. When I was a child they were administered to me in 2 series. Twelve the first time and 10 the second time. I am very disappointed that I can't find any info on this subject.

Hello Nana,
Welcome to the NeuroTalk Support Groups.

You will find a number of older posts regarding electroconvulsive therapy in the forums.
Here is the NT Search feature url.
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/search.php

You would find more info about long term effects at PsychCentral I would imagine.

Just took a look and found quite a number of articles there.

An Overview of Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT)
By John Hauser, M.D.

There are many more if you type in ECT or electroconvulsive therapy into their search term area in the top right hand corner.
