Smile Hi New here

Hi everyone. I am new here ... I am a 55 yr old care giver to my 90 yr old mum and 66 year old disabled brother. I have had two surgeries a major neck surgery with C4-C7 ,plates, donor bone the whole nine yards. and also on L5 and L4
Now my L6 and S1 are herniated but not bad I guess we will go with shots at this point ( sure does hurt though) . They are most worried about my neck and I have just undergone MRI's and posted those results in another thread hoping to get some help reading those before my appointment on Jan 14 . I know C2 and C3 are bad and I have heard that these are hard to work on ... I am in pain 24/7 and it would be nice to have folks to chat with that understand ... anyway my heart goes out to all of you who are in constant pain and will keep you all in my thoughts. looking forward to getting some answers and support . cheers

Hello trueblue.

Welcome to the NeuroTalk Support Groups.

I see you've just posted on Spinal Disorders Forum. I'm sorry you're in so much pain again after all that you've been through.

Have a look around the forums. There is also Social Chat, Creative Corner and many others that are not related to our medical issues.

I'm sure you'll find information and support here as many of us have.

There is also a Chronic Pain Forum

take care there.

Cool Smirk Hi TrueBlue

Can't help you on the reading of your MRI as I am waiting to see Neuro myself for diagnosis of MRI showing spinal cord compression in neck, amongst other things. However, I do understand neck and and back injuries and especially chronic, 24/7 pain.
This is a great Forum to chat about your issues, learn from others and meet wonderful people. As Lara mentioned there is the Chronic Pain Forum, which has great advice from members.
Hope you find some answers, some relief and some entertainment,

Dave.

Welcome ~~ I'm glad you found this great place of support and understanding. I can't help you with the MRI but I do understand chronic pain, cervical and lumbar surgeries. I'm sure you will find great support here.

Do understand 24/7 pain. I, myself, did have hardware fusion/laminectomy at the L4-5 lumbar area some years ago. Still deal with quite a bit of pain since developing peripheral neuropathy and a few other issues in addition to spine pain.

I really feel for you having 24/7 pain and being caregiver to your mum and brother. Please keep us informed in regards to your January 14th appointment.
Hope all goes well and you get the necessary info needed. Sometimes that is the hardest part.

Default thank you

Thanks everyone for your kind words and support. part of me has been scared to adress this issue and now I am scared not too. It would be so nice to not have a headache every day .... I can't function anymore really and it is starting to depress me.

Trueblue (is that a sports reference),
Couldn't get through your MRI post - eye probs - but I do understand headaches every day. I suffer from chronic Cluster Headaches and many members here suffer migraines. Do you have one of these, or are they referred pain from your neck?
Whatever the cause we understand the draining daily battle, especially in your condition/position. They will cause Depression - all constant pain does - and you need the correct treatment/meds, and your Depression needs addressing before it becomes a serious issue. You will find receptive members all over the Forums, but I would reccommend Sanctuary for Spiritual Support, and particularly Depression Forums. They are two of the most uplifting places in my World. Sorry I can't do the links -.a month in and still a Technophobe.
Feel strong, and find me for a chat anywhere,

Dave.

trueblue,

we also have a Headache Forum

[p.s. I was also wondering about your name and if it was sports related.
True Blue, where I live means totally Australian. I thought maybe you were an expat or it was sport related.]
