Confused Anybody??

Hello all,

My name is Deb and I seem to have a severe case of neuropathy. This is the most horrible thing I have ever had to deal with and I guess I am just looking for any kind of information I can get so that I can get some kind of hold on this. Am I making any sense? I don't know what questions to ask, or what else I could be doing to find some relief. I will say that this started 6months ago, toward the end of July. The pain is mostly in my midsection, horrible burning pain, and sometimes in my legs. I have lost all of my muscles, even the muscles that help me to cough and sneeze, and for a short time thought I was literally dying. My life the way I knew it has all but ended. This all started after I was misdiagnosed as a type 1 diabetic and had a reaction to the insulin. I am actually a type 2 and only needed to be on metformin. I stopped taking the insulin after three months, but the damage had already been done. It seems to me that doctors do not know very much about this horrible condition. I finally had to take a short term disability hoping I would get better, but I don't seem to be getting any better. Any information will be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Hello Debbie,

Welcome to the NeuroTalk Support Groups.

I'm really sorry you're in so much pain. I am sure you'll be able to find support and information here.

There is a
Peripheral Neuropathy Forum

PN Tips, Resources, Supplements & Other Treatments

Diabetes / Insulin Resistance / Metabolic Syndrome Forum

At the top of all the forums are "Sticky" threads. They contain useful information as well as websites and other resources.

You could also try doing a full forum search for specific keywords.
I just did one for "muscle wasting" and it brought up quite a number in the PN forum.
