In 2008 (while my husband was serving in Afghanistan) I fell down our stairs & unbeknownst to me at the time broke my back at L4-5. My family doctor kept treating me for a UTI because of all the pressure I was having. After 6 months she became very defensive and rude. I asked my Ob-gyn at my yearly, she could tell I had something wrong & sent me to PT! Several years later, 5 to be exact, and many months of PT, I found a new family doctor. By this time I am having horrible hip pain & I'm unable to lift my left leg, she ordered an exray and then MRI. In September 2013 I had a rod infusion with 4 screws and a cadaver due to the narrowing in my spine. Since surgery I have had chronic back pain (I didn't have back pain prior to surgery) & leg pain/numbness which one doctor diagnosed as merelgia paresthetica and another doctor disagrees! In November 2014 I had my 1st injection, and 3 more in December, all different types none had positive results. So in January 2015 I "retired" as a 911 dispatcher a job that I had loved for 18 years. Four weeks ago I had radiofrequency ablation, that not only did it not work but left my legs in worse shape and taking more meds! I have become very depressed as I can no longer do things I have always enjoyed. I hope there is someone with a similar situation that can give me New hope!
