hi, im new to this but need answers. Had bridge work done on my upper right side of my mouth.. Since this has been done, I have been uncomfortable.. I feel like it sticks out to much and rub against my cheek.. my gum is now swelling up every time I eat or drink something... I cant pinpoint what is exactly wrong.. it feels like its bumpy inside, I cant even eat on that side now. I can tolerate the pain for now but worried about it getting infected. Ive gone back twice to my dentist, but says everything is ok. Can anyone help..im miserable...

That really too bad, sounds like you need to get to another dentist for 2nd opinions, etc. If you are worried about infection, what you could do for yourself is rinse with H202, I use it daily for my mouth hygeine. Sorry you are going thru this.

Hello ritacastaneda,
Welcome to the NeuroTalk Support groups! ![]() I'm sorry you're dealing with such an uncomfortable situation in your mouth. Something is obviously irritating the area. It doesn't sound as if it's ok as your dentist has told you. I'd be getting another opinion if in the same situation. It sounds as if it needs to be looked at as soon as possible. The little lumps may be because the gum is constantly being rubbed or irritated by a badly fitting bridge as you say but I personally wouldn't try anything except for a salty rinse several times a day until you find out what's actually going on there. There is a link below to the NT dental forum. Perhaps you could ask there. Dentistry & Dental Issues Forum |

Welcome! It is so painful having anything off in your mouth. It just doesn't take much. Think how annoying it is when a crown is slightly too high or an edge is sharp on anything. bleh. I second the second opinion. Someone needs to take the time to really check it out for problems and make micro adjustments if needed to get you comfortable.
Sending hugs, ![]() |
