Default advise from survivors of benzos

I'm Rob.

This topic covers Benzo withdrawal.

The Ashton manual has worked wonders to get me from 2mg Xanax to 40mg Valium to 2mg Valium. But now I need some support and advise, please. Migranes are horrible ... Energy level words can not describe ....

But what worries me most is relapse as I'm a recovering alcoholic.

So I ask the people on the forum has anyone implemented Yoga and or Meditation to aid in the severity of anxiety ?

Any advise is sincerely appreciated.

Hello Rob,

There are a lot of members here who use yoga or meditation to help with their anxiety. I'll post a few forum links below that may be helpful for you.

There is an Anxiety & OCD Forum

Alcoholism, Addiction and Recovery Forum

Headaches (includes Migraine)

There are many older posts too in the
Medications Forum regarding withdrawing or tapering form certain medications.
You could try a forum search in there for previous posts if you wanted.

Hopefully your energy levels will return as you recover. You were on those pills a very long time if I recall correctly.

Wishing you all the best.

Wow! Congrats Rob. That took a lot of hard work and dedication. You are obviously a strong and resilient individual taking great care of yourself. Yoga and meditation will be powerful additions to your toolbox. Might I also suggest acupuncture to help get you past the headaches and such?

Sending Healing Love,

Hi Rob

Welcome to NeuroTalk .

I am an in-remission alcoholic and use meditation every day as part of my mental health self-care.

It has helped me a lot and I hope that it will help you as well.

All the best.
