Default really need some peace of mind.

Hey my name is kc.Ive been dealing with "post concussion syndrome" for almost 5 months. And im a little worried that maybe thats not what it is.I was wondering if some people here could comment on my story n possibly tell me wether or not thats just how this is.
Ok in the begining I was drinking and tried to tackle a friend that weighs 300 lbs.I weigh 175.well we hit shoulders and needless to say he won.I kept drinking. The next day I accidently pulled a headboard off the wall( it was bolted to the hotel wall) well when it came off it hit me in the temple.I never passed out or anything during both incidents.

Well I was driving home the day I hit my temple and everything was normal.About 6 hours or so later I was still driving and I had this really weird feeling come over me.Like the weirdest feeling ever and it went away n then 5 seconds or so later it came back but this time the road started to stretch on me and then I had a tinglingnl hot sensation come from my feet allnthe way up to my head and I felt like I was going to pass out.But I never did so I took my shirt off and I cooled off after about 3-5 minutes and I was then freezing! Is this normal or have i been laced? Ive so much anxiety that ive been laced and this isnt a concussion please someone tell me youve dealt with the exact same thing. The next day for about a month i was so spacey/dizzy and just all around weird feeling.Well since then it has very much so eased off.I hardly ever get spacey or dizzy i just still feel weird and nothing like myself. My surroundings dont feel right i dont feel right. My surroundings almost seem fake.Ive had the most weirdest unheard of thoughts that i know arnt possible but evwn though i try n fight them my body trys to fight me to tell me theyre true.for instance i had a thought that my mom and girlfriend were halucinations.n i knkw better then that.N just today i had a thought well what if im knocked out right now and this is all a dream.I just dont underatand why im nlt feeling spacey or anything but its all these psychological issues now...I still get spacey for about a day or 2 every week or 2/3 weeks something like that. But the weird thoughts last anywere from a split second to almost a week...my body is almost beleiving these crazy thoughts.please help.
thanks a lot in advance.

Hi and welcome to NeuroTalk.

Have you talked to your Doctor yet??

Some of what you described sounds somewhat the same as some people can experience after a concussion. I've, thankfully never in my life had the experience of having a drink spiked (if that's what you mean by laced) so I don't know how that would feel. I doubt that the side effects of that would last all this time though.

Have a read in the
Traumatic Brain Injury & Post Concussion Syndrome Forum

You'll find some very recent posts there about that odd feeling when our surroundings seem unfamiliar. Derealization / Depersonalization. Have a read and see if that's what you're experiencing. You can search each forum using the Forum Search feature below if you want.

Check out the Sticky threads at the very top of the forum. They contain information and useful websites and other helpful topics.

You really should go see your Doctor if you haven't already.

all the best to you.

So you would say that the begining symptom sounds like a concussion? As long as that sounds like it then I wont worry so much about the spiked lol.Im making an apointment with a psychiatrist tom who has experience on tbi to talk about my thoughts and themmseeming so real in the beginning I felt like inwas fighting not to pass out, Now its like im fighting my thoughts and for my sanity honestly...

Yes, some of what you've written sounds familiar to me as someone who experienced PCS. It is a syndrome though so not everyone has the same list of symptoms. You'll find a lot of people with PCS also have anxiety, so getting the anxiety under control is often a great way of lessening the effects of the PCS.

I'm not sure what's happening to you with the thoughts that are so troubling, like the worry about them being hallucinations. Seeing a specialist who is knowledgeable about PCS is the best start. Not all doctors are knowledgeable. A lot of the members on the TBI PCS forum have been evaluated by NeuroPsychologists at one point.

Check out the info on that forum. You'll know after reading some of the information if it is familiar to your own situation.
