Hi, Im Jill - husband Ian may join in from time to time - I've been epileptic since 1969. Have taken all kinds of medications, most of which have been marginal in their success. The latest is Topamax as an adjunct to some other stuff. I've never had anyone else to talk with except Ian and my sister. There is only so much they can do. I loved reading some of the posts.

Hi Jill and welcome! NeuroTalk has a great group of people. I think you'll find the Epilepsy Forum a good source of info and lots of support.

Hi Jill, I'm Donna and I am a either former epileptic or a still epileptic that isn't exactly diagnosed at this time. Its kind of hard to explain. But the thing I am
for sure is the mom of Derrick who is uncontrolled for over 8 years with complex partial, simple partial and 2nd generalized seizures. And the mom of two other son's who have had forms of seizures. And they are both controlled at present and doing well.

My situation personally is that I was controlled or it was believed that I was for over 30 years, and I either now have balance issues with post concussion syndrome, migraines and other things. Or I've always had this kind of issues.
And also central abnormalities. Its probably never really going to be known.

The thing I do know is that I am being treated right now for a combination of things, and its working. I am also having symptoms that mimic seizures, so its very hard to know what it is or was at all. Its very confusing.

I love the epilepsy forum here, and at the EFA were I go a lot too.

So please make sure you visit often. If you need anything please pm me.

Donna
