My partner has neuropathy. He has been to see a couple of "specialists" who have run him through testing and he doesn't have any of the other major health concerns ie. diabetes/cancer etc. etc.
But they have given him no other help other than to say "you have neuropathy". He's in a lot of pain a lot of the time. He can not take neuro pain meds as they make him go crazy. It seems to have been brought on from alcohol consumption. Any food with sugar severely effects him so after doing our own research it seems to be small fibre neuropathy. He is taking all of the vitamin B supplements. No alcohol. No smoking. No sugar. But it's almost as if one day it is getting better then the next it is so much worse than before. I just want to know if any one has any suggestions on things he should be doing to help improve his condition? We will try anything at this point to try lesson his pain. Also any suggestions on what I can do as a partner to support him? |

Hi Selina 79
Welcome to NeuroTalk ![]() I am sorry to read about your partner; I can relate because I have mild/moderate PN in my hands from when I used to abuse alcohol. The PN forum (https://www.neurotalk.org/forum20/) is very active so I am sure that if you post there you will get lots of support and helpful suggestions from other members. All the best.
