Hi everyone, just joined and posted my issue in the Movements Disorder Forum. Joined due to an issue where my lower jaw jerks involuntarily. When speaking it sounds like I am stuttering or yelling. It is a very quick movement with no idea when or why it happens. Some days are so bad I do not want to speak, other days I feel pretty good about speaking. I have seen numerous professionals over the years and spent thousands. No one has any idea what it is and all treatments have proved ineffective. It can also happen if I'm thinking of what to say and even sometimes reading to myself. It is incredibly embarrassing and frustrating, it is really depressing me that I have this issue that no one seems to know how to fix. In the Movement Disorder Forum you will see all the people I have seen and treatments that have been attempted. Really hope to get some help, I do not know where else to turn. Thank you |

Hi DKMin,
I have the exact same issue as you have. Have you found any solution or has the new medication worked for you? I also feel embarrassed at work when speaking in a meeting or even when im talking to someone. I would really appreciate your reply. |

Should probably post in Movement Disorder section, not the introduction section. I did find something that helps about 70% or so, I found it myself after researching over a decade and spending thousands seeing "professionals"...
