Hello
My name is Solo and i live in the Caribbean. A little ove 2years ago I was shot in the back and below my buttocks. Needless to say I suffered extensive injuries and almost died. Since then I have not been able to touch anything without wearing latex gloves or walk bare footed. If i touch something, anything I get shocked badly. This happens on every part of my body but my hands are the worst. I get a very little relief when i come in contact with water but other than that I'm on pins and needles. Ive been told my condition is an over-field or something, I've been told there a meds that may help, Ive been told to try magnets, Ive been told there is nothing i can really do. All I know is I want my life back i want to be able to touch again. I would appreciate advice. |

((((((Solo)))))),
Welcome to NeuroTalk. I'm sorry you're suffering so much. I'm not sure exactly what your problem has been diagnosed as. But, I thought it might help you to read these two websites. Perhaps you'll find something that might help you. http://www.school-for-champions.com/...staticcont.htm http://amasci.com/emotor/zapped.html Two of the things suggested on these websites: (1) Wearing either cotton or wool clothing (no synthetics). (2) Always wear a metal thimble on your finger (or carry a metal key) to touch to metal before you touch anything with your hand. Or knock your knuckles (less pain receptors in your knuckles) against something before you touch it with the other parts of your hand. If I were you, I'd be curious to see if some of these 'simpler' techniques worked to alleviate some of the problem. You might to post over on the Chronic Pain forum. I don't think that there's anyone here with the EXACT same set of problems as you, but, we sure do understand chronic pain and loss of function. Hugs. Barb |
