Default Hi

I am so happy to have finally found a place to be able to discuss neuro issues.

I was diagnosed with essential tremor 20 some years ago. My tremor affects my head and right arm, hand. I've received treatment at NIH, and nothing there worked. One of the nurses there finally suggested a "surgical intervention". So in 2002 I had a deep brain stimulator implanted on one side of my brain. I was told that it wouldn't affect the tremor in my head, but the right arm/hand would decrease. After about a year a neurologist did numerous tests, over the course of another year, and came to the conclusion that the stimulator didn't do anything AT ALL. So I've had the dbs removed.

I've tried every medication used to treat essential tremor and nothing has worked.

I am close to giving up on anything ever helping...
