Hello all! I'm grannie frannie and I have recently been diagnosed with Tarlov's
disease. It's been an almost three year journey and I'm sure most of you know what a journey it has been. For the last three years I have been thru all the paces. The first MRI studies indicated a degenerative disc at L3/4 level. That turned out to be the red herring that kept me and the dr.s going through every test available. All along I kept saying that place did not hurt and I kept showing them where it did. I didn't give up (of course it should be said I'm a bit like a dog with his last bone) and kept searching for a doctor who could tell me what it was and the biggest problem I kept running into is the doctors would sometimes become angry with me because I questioned authority. My accupuncturist listened and had mri's done that showed a 5 cm cyst on my S2 nerve. Even then the first doc I saw at Portland OR's OHSU pooh poohed it and sent me back to my pain dr. A year later I'm back to see another nuerologist who see's the cyst which is now 7 cm. I go back in a couple of months to talk about the future. Any questions I should take back to them that has been helpful to anyone here? I could sure use your input and thank you all for being here. months |
