Hi there. I just found out that a brother of mine has been diagnosed with FTD. He is in his early fifties and has several children. I am somewhat skeptical of the diagnosis, although I don't live in his state and am not privy to all the symptoms and diagnosis. I'm here to learn more.

Hi, mkennedy! Welcome to NeuroTalk!

I'm afraid that I don't know what FTD is, so you might benefit from using the forum search engine located above in the blue toolbar. There are lots of friendly, helpful folks here and you are welcome to join in anywhere.

Default Welcome to Neurotalk.

I, too, am curious (not Curious, but curious); I'm not always up to speed on all the abbreviations and acronyms.

Let us know about the situation in more detail, if you like, and if you need any help navigating around here, just ask.

Hi mkennedy and Welcome to NT. I think your'e brother is very fortunate that you are trying to find info to help and understand his condition.

However, I, like the others do not know what FTD stands for.

How can we help??

Hi, mkennedy

In light of what you noted, I think it could be frontotemporal dementia with which your brother has been diagnosed. Is that right?

There is an Alzheimer's forum here:

Its FTD subforum is here:
