Hello.
I'm a 39 year old Australian male. According to one neuro, I have: Idiopathic Trigeminal Neuropathy (Sensory). V2 and V3 on right side is affected.... started as a numb bottom lip and has spread to the entire two branches in 3 years. I guess it is chronic. Sensations include: stinging, numbness, tightness, prickles and aching. Luckily, I have no motor disfunction. I've had every test and scan available and I have even been told that it may be of psychological origin. I know this condition is considered to be pretty soft in comparison to other neuropathic disorders, and reading about sufferers of more serious neuro diseases is hard for me to do... I really feel sorry for those people. I have joined this forum because it (ITN) has, and is still having a destructive influence on my state of mind, my home life and my career is almost dead in the water. I still have not heard of or met or spoken to anyone who has this disorder, and most of my peers and family don't understand my situation as there are no physical signs. Two questions: How do you know when you are truly depressed? Is there anyone out there with the same symptoms as me? AW. |
