Well I joined, because I'm dealing with migraines, and I was looking into the effects of non narcotic pain med withdrawl.
My doc's want to baseline me, to try and eliminate rebound headaches that may be caused by my use of any pain medication ( narcotic and non narcotic ). I can deal with not using the mild narcotic ( vicoprofin, vicodin or any of the others ) because my migraines usually only occur ( on average ) 10 times a month, but not being able to deal with the minor background headaches and keep them under control - is triggering a total escalation in the number of migraines with as many migraines in the past week, and I normally have in a good month. What can anyone tell me about withdrawl from things like aspirin and ibruprofin? ![]() ![]() |

WELCOME to Neurotalk!
if you research on this link it will help you realize how dangerous prescription medicines can be - if they interact with others it could even be deadly-be careful and research everything you have been taking... llink http://www.drugs.com/

It's not the prescription meds that have me bothered - it's the not being able to take the non prescription meds, to control the non migraine headaches ( that can trigger the migraines ). I have always taken the minimum amount of perscrition pain meds, and the migraines are so random, that my origininal neurologist, thought that there was little chance of my becoming dependant on them ( I could go 1 1/2 -2 weeks without a problem then have a couple of migraines back to back ). Literally I would take one pill, even when my script read "take two", and only if there was no effect in 45 min would I take a second ( which was rarely ). Many of the lessor migraines could even be brought under control with a massive amount of non prescription pain meds - it's just that it would be less likely to cause liver or kidney damage, by taking the prescription pain med instead. < shrug > |
