Default New member introduction

Hi all,

My name is Bonnie Clay-Riley (smithclayriley is my user name). I'm from Nanaimo, BC (on Vancouver Island). I have been moving around trying to find the best spot to build a health team (it's a jungle out there) as my pd symptoms get worse (I was dx. 11 yrs. ago). I was doing well and working 8 yrs into this; that all changed when my agonist Bromocriptine was stopped and I started taking Mirapex. It took me down and I have unstable since. I am still hanging in (by my fingernails) trying to get help. I get horrendous side effects from Sinemet and l-dopa; both legs start shaking up to a hour and half following each dose I take. My legs go rigid as well. I am confused. It seems I do better without the meds except for my feet go numb and I get the creepy crawlies. I hope to find some answers and info. This forum looks like a good place to start.

Thanks Abbie for coming out of your very dark space to welcome me to the forum. I know somewhat of this space. I was unrealistic and unprepared for what I faced starting pd medications from day one (11 yrs ago). I am ramping off dopamine because I have no choice; it is killing me. I wish you better days.
