Hello jlmullins520! A big welcome from me as well.

I do feel for you, having to put up with terrible back pain. Now that you have your MRI films and report, your doctor should be able to advise you where you go from here.

I see that Chemar has directed you to the Spinal Forum, where you're bound to meet some wonderful people in similar positions to yourself.

Another forum which may be useful to you is the Chronic Pain Forum, and here's the link to that one : http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum10.html

Smile Hi, Jlmullins!

It's really great to meet you! I'm so sorry for the problems you're having with your back. I had both a neurologist and a neurosurgeon explain that stuff to me, but basically what it seemed to come down to was that the soft tissue between the bones or the vertebra of my spine were bulging out in one place and letting two of the vertebra rub together when I bent over in a certain way. Your problem sounds a little more complicated, though. I would definitely recommend that you research it thoroughly before going through any surgery or anything like that. I hope you come back to visit us from time to time, and let us know how you are doing. Good luck and the best of wishes to you!
