Default new here

Hi everyone. Been in chronic pain for a couple of years. I was diagnosed with post herpetic neuralgia. Developed numb fingers and other problems.Doctor ordered mri of cervical spine. Would like some help interpertating the results.Marrow normal no fractions. c2-c3 discs appear normal. Uncovertebral spurring at C4-C5 causes moderate narrowing of the right neural foramen. The dominant abnormality is a very large and broad right posterior lateral disc extrusion at c5-c6 causing central canal stenosis with marked compression of the ventrolateral aspect of the cord. There is spurring and or disc material causing addittional narrowing of the right c5 c6 neural foramen. The csf is completely effaced ventrally and posterior to the cord, no edema is evident. neurosurgical consult is recommended. Thanks anybody

Hi and welcome to NeuroTalk! I can't interpret your MRI results but I did post the link to the Chronic Pain Forum. Hopefully someone there can help you decipher the medical lingo - did you have an appointment with your doctor after the MRI was done? He or she should have explained the findings to you.

Glad you joined the community and I hope you get some answers soon!

Hi there Mingee, and welcome to NeuroTalk. I'm sorry to hear about the problems that you've been having.

Have you made that appointment with a neurologist yet, because they're the best people to interpret results like your's.
