Iam here because was dianosed with bi polor and affective disorder after years of suffering symtoms and not wanting to get help I finally had to do something my life was misrable and out of control. I lost my job of 12 years a long relationship with someone I loved because of symtoms that I have. Ive just got appoved for ssdi after years of filing applcations and not falling though and trying to go back to work I even had a court date to see ssa judge and decicided not to get on disabilty and went back to work. that was dumb but i was not ready to admitt to my self that i couldent work anymore or tell some judge about my issuses. luckly I won on an appeal and Iam now trying to gain some understanding of what is wrong with me and how to have a life. I have not untill acouple months ago let someone know about seizers that have had periodicliy stating at age 12 that was because it happend in front of my sister and she called 911. I still havent receaved any medical attention for this but after reading an artical somewhere that having seizers gives you the same symtoms as bi polor I have thought mabe this would be a good time to have the seizers looked into. Maybe Iam not bi polor maby I haer voices becase of affects of having seizers. anyway just looking for peaple with simular problems that might have experace with this. thanks

Hello Rory, and welcome to NeuroTalk. I'm glad you found us, but not glad about the reason that you came looking.

A good place for you to start is probably our Bipolar Forum so I'll give you the direct link. http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum38.html

I'm sure in that forum you're bound to find others with similar problems as yourself. They're a pretty special group of people over there Rory, and I'm sure they'll make you feel right at home.

Hi Rory and welcome to NeuroTalk!

I see that Koala gave you a link to a forum to get you started - I hope you can find some advice or suggestions from others there that can help you determine what is happening with your medical condition.

Here is another link to the Epilepsy and Seizure Disorder Forum - I thought someone there might also be able to offer you some help since you mentioned seizures as one of your concerns.

Feel free to visit any of the forums here - everyone is very helpful. Let us know if you have any questions.

Hi, Rory! Welcome to NeuroTalk!

In addition to the forums here at NeuroTalk, you may want to visit our parent site, PsychCentral where mental health topics are more active. I hope you'll find some answers soon!
