Default Hello

My name is Marci. Please be patient with me whilst I navigate my way around. I find myself floundering here as I have never used this type of format before and I don't even know if I am typing in the correct space. I also have never used a chat line or any type of discussion forum before either. The reason I am trying is because I am desperate to get answers for my allergies. I have had allergy testing and I am allergic to cobalt, gold, nickel, dodecyl gallate (used as an anti oxidant in the processing of fats and oils to prevent them going rancid) and the carba chemicals (rubber and latex). I am sure there are more but they haven't tested me yet as they say there isn't any more they can do. For example, shampoo and soap, I break out in dermatitus and the itch nearly drives me crazy so they told me to use the NEW gentle QV that I definitely won't react to and it does leave my hair feeling lovely but after using it twice I developed blisters down the middle of my back from the shampoo runoff and my scalp felt weird. I have lost about a third of my hair which cheeses me off no end. I do not have alopecia. I need help finding a product to help myself feel clean. I can't use Simple, Gentle, Baby products etc. I have run out of ideas and luckily I saw this site online while I was doing more research and hope someone out there can help me. I have had this problem since I was about three years old and I am tired and thoroughly sick of it all. I will now leave it in your experienced hands and hope someone will lead me in the right direction. Bye for now and thanks for considering my problem. Marci.

Hi, Marci! Welcome to NeuroTalk!

Your struggle sounds like a nightmare, I'm so sorry you have to deal with this. I'm fortunate to have escaped most allergies but do have patchy sensitive skin. My saviors have been Cetaphil cleanser & lotion, and Phisoderm. I'm not sure if you've tried either, but it sounds like you might be better off testing a small area before committing to a full use of anything.

We have a forum dedicated to allergies and you may find more knowledgeable folks to help you there.

Hi Marci and welcome to NeuroTalk! Your allergy sensitivities sound dreadful and I'm hoping someone can suggest something that will give you some relief. You've definitely come to the right place and I see that Cindy has directed you to the allergy Forum. Good luck to you!!

Default Feeling welcomed.

Hi Cindy, I hope I am writing this in the right place. I can't believe the welcome I have received. I feel very optimistic about this site. I have been fobbed off for years by manufacturers who won't take any responsibility for their product information and doctors who put me in the too hard basket and have had to resort to self treatment and experimentation. Phisoderm, Phisohex and Cetaphil are no nos for me as well. Thank you though for your suggestions. I will look for the forum on allergies and see what gives.Thank you and take care. Marci

Thanks for the welcome. I still need to learn about threads, postings, what removing links are and how to gain access to something without fluking it. Bye, Marci.

Hi, I am just trying to work my way around the system without stuffing up. Where do I go if I can't do anything or find what I want? Any ideas? Bye, Marci.

Hi Marci, I'm sorry that I don't have any answers for you either, but I too wanted to take this opportunity to welcome you to NeuroTalk.

I look forward to meeting up with you a little later on around the forums.
