Default hello

Hi all,

My name is Charlie andI'm joining this forum in the hope that I'll get some help and support with the headaches and problems I've been having since a car accident in February this year.

I was initially diagnosed with basic whiplash and sent away with medication. When that didn't work I was referred for physiotherapy and when that didn't work I was finally referred to see an orthopedic specialist.

He has diagnosed damage to the occipital nerves. I've had an MRI scan and am now booked in for a procedure next Monday (30th) to have a general anaesthetic and then once asleep have steroid injections into the occipital nerves.

I'm quite nervous about this, but if it stops the constant headaches then I'll be happy

I keep reading about nerve blockers - is that the same as what I'm having?! I'm not sure of the difference.

Sorry for your headaches and wish you the best with your upcoming injections. I hope everything works out with the best possible outcome.

Try not to be nervous. Sorry I don't have any answers for you. Please let us know how it goes, K?

Hi and welcome

when you say wont "let" you post on ON could you elaborate please?
the first posts by new members always pass thru a pre-moderated phase so with a slight delay before appearing to the board, but that should not stop you from being able to post to any of the forums

Question

lol guess you made your five now

still, I am interested to find more re posting on ON board? even as a brand new member with 0 posts you should have been able to post on any of the forums here did you get a message saying your post would be in moderation as you were still a "newbie" or give you a "no permission" message

i have not noticed any problems with new members posting on other forums here so am wondering if anything needs checking on the ON forum, so feedback from you would be great, thanks

you can post or PM me.

Hi Charlie~ I posted on another thread of yours, but thought I'd come here and officially welcome you to NeuroTalk. Glad to have you w/us.

My DS had a shoulder manipulation for frozen shoulder a few months ago under a nerve block and sedative. He was basically in la la land while they did it and didn't feel a thing. I don't know if this is what you are talking about, but it is better than general anesthesia for things like this.

Good luck and hope you can get rid of those headaches!!

Welcome again!
