Confused Please say I'm not alone

My dad was diagnosed with an aneuryms on May 15, 2008.... He went in for an angiogram and several coilings and procedures later.... He is still non responsive.. He just had a shunt put in his head and I really don't understand all that... The spinal fluid is now being drained off into his belly, and is controlled with a valve on his head... If they drain off too much this could cause the layer protectiong the brain to tear and bleed and if they do not drain off enough, then there is ? pressure on the brain.. The MRI said there is no significant brain damage that results in him not waking up.... His eyes are open and he responds to some stimulation but this has been 56 long days and nights... Every day I go in and see him I am expecting him to "wake UP" is this unreasonable of me? Is he going to wake up? Is he going to stay like this?? The doctors really dont have any answers, they have no medical reason of why he is not waking up... they just keep saying time and patience.. I just feel like no one ever talks about ppl that have been out of it for this long... Most stories are a month long... and they say he is not "comatosed" what does this all mean... Does he feel me, does he hear me, can he understand what I am saying.. Is he scared, does he know where he is, whats going on??? What does hes know... Is he uncomfortable... ??? Please help me.. I really need some answers.. Thanks for letting me vent..
