Default I'm not alone!!!!!

Hello Everyone! I've just joined your forum. Have been reading a lot of the comments on this site and feel waves of empathy flowing from me to all of you. I've suffered from Trigeminal Neuralgia for over 10 years and have been on every drug under the sun. This summer I decided that I wanted to be drug free so I weaned myself off everything slowly. Depression hit me badly. The only thing that kept me on the planet was my beloved cats (I'm feline crazy!). Not only that, but after a month the pain returned with avengence. Reluctantly, I decided to go back on Lyrica which has helped to ease the pain. What is this life all about? I cannot find any meaning at all. I have been blessed to have been born in the First World with all the creature comforts that any human being could desire but I am cursed to live in a Hell of Pain. Not very optimistic but that's how I feel. I also feel a failure because I haven't been able to "psych" myself out of the pain. I read Brandon Bay's book about reaching down to your inner "camp Fire" but I couldn't talk to my pain. I'm so utterly frustrated with my life. AHHHHHHH!!!

Hi Dixy and Welcome to NeuroTalk. I am really sorry that you are having pain and I'm glad Lyrica is at least easing it a little bit.

You are not alone here. We all have great shoulders to cry on or patient ears to listen. I hope you find some relief soon.

Hi, Dixy! Welcome to NeuroTalk!

Sorry to learn about your pain, it's awful and it's difficult. Please release your notions of failure, the only real failure is the failure to try. You are trying to get answers and coping mechanisms by joining this informative and supportive community. Count this as a success.

Hello and Welcome to Neurotalk - you will meet many great and supportive people here!

I am so sorry for everything that you are going through I also suffer from chronic pain (RSD) - I have had it since I was 12 years old (I am now 13) so I do understand some of what you are going through.

If you need anything, please don't hesitate to ask - I am more than happy to help you in anyway I possibly can

I also love cats although we don't have any (mom and dad are more doggy people). My grandad has a Siamese Cat though who is so cute!!

Take care and i'm looking forward to seeing you around the forum soon!

Alison

Hi Dixy and welcome to Neurotalk!

We share our home with two dogs and four cats and I don't know what I'd do without them.
