Wink Hello

I am a 36 year old stay at home mom. Not by choice, but because of a physical hanidcap. I have had CRPS II for several years. However, I was just diagnosed last week. I knew I had a serious condition, but never knew there was a name for it. I have had extensive surgeries on my left knee and I am still not done. I am awaiting a partial knee replacement. I have met lots of people with knee pain, but never anyone with the nerve pain I have been experiencing. I am scheduled to have a pain stimulator inplanted within the next two weeks. This disease has changed my life for the past 7 years. Over the past several years, I have learned that people who do not have pain, do not understand!!! When someone tells me they are hurt or in pain, I can sympathize with them. Then there are the other people who say, how bad can it really be? If they only knew!

Hi Dawn and welcome to NeuroTalk! I completely understand what you mean by "those who don't have it don't get it"! That's true with most any condition....if you don't have to live with it day in and day out you really cannot understand what it's like.

Everyone here understands and there are very caring and supportive people here.

I've included the link to the CRPS Forum. Please take a look around and feel free to join in anywhere you feel comfortable.
