Default Hi everyone I'm new

Hi, guys.
I have recently been pretty much diagnosed with occipital neuralgia. I say pretty much because I am waiting for an MRI for my brain and vertabrea to rule out that.
I have severe burning on the back of my head, stiff neck, and headaches and had my first round of steriods yesterday. They went into the base of my skull area.
I am currently on 60 mg of baclofen and 1200 mg of Neurotin. Both have really helped with the pain alot.
Right now I'm having some kind of reaction to those shots, my face is burning and the doctor informed me its just the meds moving around and to take benedryl but that has not worked.
Anyway, I look forward to reading up here and learning.

Smile Hi, Shelbyrhay!

It's very good to meet you! Unfortunately, there's not much I can do to help you either, though I wish there was. I suffer from some neuralgia, but it's in my leg and side, so it's a whole different game. I can tell you that I took Neurontin for quite a while, and I've talked with others who took it, too. It can cause weight gain in quite a few of those who take it. Hopefully that won't include you, though. I hope they get you all straight, Shelby. Good luck and best wishes!

Thank you for the fine welcome, everyone!
Oddly, I've dropped about ten pounds in a week and a half on these meds. Basically since I started the Neurotin. It kind of makes me manic or OCD.
The doctor just about fell over when I asked him about this. He said this was not normal and prepped me for weight gain. Hopefully that won't happen. I'd love to drop 15 more pounds, ha ha.

Lucky you! I have to take pills to keep my weight up, and it makes all my sisters and my brother so mad! But I don't care. I'm the only one of us who doesn't have gray hair yet, either.
