Hello and Welcome to Neurotalk - you will meet many great and supportive people here who I am sure will be more than happy to help you in anyway they possibly can!!!

I'm so sorry to hear about everything you have and are going through , I am so glad that you have finally found a Doctor who believes you though - that is so very important!

I also suffer from RSD, I have it in my left leg and right arm - I developed it when I was 12 years old and am now 13. My RSD started in my left ankle also after an ankle sprain in March 2007 and I was diagnosed 4 months later. When I was diagnosed, I asked my Pain Management Doctor WHY that ankle sprain caused me to develop RSD and he said "I'm sorry but I honestly can't tell you". I had sprained my ankle and wrist, broken many bones before that ankle sprain in March 07 and never had any problems until then.

If you need anything, please don't hesitate to ask - I am more than happy to help you in anyway I possibly can as I know how scary it can be at times dealing with this horrible illness.

Take care and I look forward to seeing you around the forum more real soon!
Alison.
