Default Partner not responding to Stimulus

My partner had a car accident 4 weeks ago and suffered a severe TBI. He had an op to the frontal lobe and to the left side also. He is on Life support and has a trach due to the Doctor saying the ventilator needed to come out to reduce infection. His shunt was removed from his head 7 days after the op as they were no longer concerned with ICP. He has been battling a temperature for weeks and today I have been informed he is not responding to simulus even though he is no longer sedated. He crashed at a speed of 100mph and the passenger died so was a really bad accident. I have no idea what not responding to simulus means and as I cannot get to the hospital due to the distance i rely on emails from them. The reason I write here is I am hoping someone can give me their realistic opinion of what this means or any experiance of own TBI. Any information would be gratefully received.

Hello and welcome to NeuroTalk. I've not had any experience with TBI but here is the link directly to the forum.....if you post your questions there you might get more responses from people who can offer help. I'm sorry about your partner's injuries....and I hope that someone here can give you the information you seek.
