Default Hi there - I really need some help...

Hi everyone, my name's James and I've developed some neurological problems since I had my wisdom teeth removed at Christmas.

Basically, I had my left lower, right lower and right upper teeth removed, and the left lower was severly impacted. Under general anaesthetic they removed the teeth, but had difficulty removing the left lower, eventually cutting through bone and god knows what else to remove the tooth. Straight after the operation I was in agony, which I expected, and the whole left side of my tongue was numb, which I expected but was disappointed with. Anyway, the agony persisted for 4 weeks with no sign of getting any better. My tongue felt like it was is permanent cramp on the left side. Eventually the pain subsided and I began to experience tingling and pain on the tongue which I believed to be a good sign of the nerves repairing themselves and the sensation returning. Around this time however, I was simply looking in a mirror doing my hair, and all of a sudden I felt a drop under my left eye. My vision changed and made me feel very spaced out, and the eye had a noticeable strabismus to the left, which made seeing out of it very difficult. My long vision which was previously excellent is now smeary and my general vision is unfocused and sloppy. Gradually over the next 2 weeks the strength in the left side of my face began to fade and I had persistent twitching in my cheek and eyebrow muscles. I still have sensation to touch, but the muscles seem much weaker compared to before, and I cannot make the same eyebrow or cheek movements I used to be able to do.

I have an MRI scan tomorrow, but I get the feeling the doctors I'm seeing aren't taking it particularly seriously, ie, you're not going to die tomorrow, so what's the big deal?

I have persistent and random shoots of pain around my cheek, and eyebrow, and I get twitching in my right eyelid and bottom lip.

I was wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar and if anyone has any advice.

Thanks
