Confused Long time Parkinson's

Hi! I am Martha's caregiver or at least try my best. Martha has been disgnosed with P for about 25 years, yes 25, It doesn't get better. She has had most of the standard meds, 6 months ago she was taking (7) 25/250 sinemet, thats one every two hours. At that time she was still experiencing on/off. About 3 months ago the on/off stopped and the sinemet quit working. She now takes (2) 25/250 sinemet a day more because she doesn't want to be without it in case it is doing something.

Are you sure you want to read this sad tale?

In December of '07 she had the DBS surgery at Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem. It worked on one side but not the other. Her tremor and dysconeshia (never was a very good speller) are all GONE, but the side that doesn't work and is turned off, caused her to loose volume and clearety. She is in a transport chair in which she is dependent on someone to move. Looks like my story is too long. She is now in assisted living, she will be 82.
