Hi,
My name is Larry. I just turned 60 years old. I am having a hard time coping with that. I am afraid if death.

I also can't get into any hobby or entertainment outside of work.

Hi Larry, and welcome to NeuroTalk! I think you will find interesting subjects with many nice and helpful people, too.

Here is a link to the Depression forum, which might be a place to start. http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum37.html

Hi, Larry! It's nice to meet you! Sixy-years-old, huh? Happy birthday! Everyone is afraid of death, and there are a lot of people on this site who truly understand that feeling. Some are older just like you, and some are very young. But they are all wonderful, warm and caring people. Try making some friends here. I think you'll find that this is what helps most of all. Good luck and best wishes, Larry...

Hi Larry and welcome to NeuroTalk! You've come to the right place for friendship and support. Take a look at the Social Chat forum when you have time. It's a great place to go and talk about all kinds of different topics. Hope to see you around the board! http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum35.html

I just wanted to thank everybody for welcoming me to this site. I wasn't able to thank each of you individually because I am still learning how to navigate my way around. I am looking forward to talking with people who are upbeat and friendly.

Thanks again

Hi Larry,

Welcome. Have you talked to your doc about your feelings? I know sometimes its hard, but depression is a medical condition and being able to cope with it will help you with other issues with your health and relationships in the long run. Food for thought, It was hard for me to do, but I am glad I did.

Hi krelnk,

I have seen a counselor on and off for years and was treated for Generalized Anxiety and Depression.

My Anxiety is much better now and I can cope a lot better with people and other situations that come up in daily life.

I don't feel nearly as down as I used to be but I don't feel like I have any direction or purpose when I am not working at my daily job.

I am married and have two grown children and I love my wife dearly. I pretty much work, come home, help out around the house, eat, watch a little TV and go to bed and start over the next day.

Thanks foe listening, I need to go back to bed before the sun comes up.
