A woman takes her Norwegian Blue parrot into the Vets. Unfortunately, it is stiff and seemingly lifeless.

The Vet looks at the poor bird cradled in the owner's arms and says "I'm sorry Ma'am, your parrot is dead".

"I don't believe that!" Cried the distraught woman, "you haven't even examined him yet!"

The Vet shrugs, takes the parrot and lays his rigid body on the examination table. He then leaves the room to return moments later with a large Tabby cat, which he puts on the table.

The cat pats the bird a couple of times, sniffs it from beak to tail feathers, then sits down shaking her head.

Then the Vet goes to the door and whistles. A beautiful, black Labrador Retriever bounds into the room. The Vet holds the parrot out to him and he sniffs it then licks it all over. With tears in his soulful brown eyes he shakes his head.

Resigned to the inevitable fact, the owner collects her bird and makes to leave.

"I'm afraid that will be $500" says the Vet.

"$500!" Exclaims the woman, shocked "to tell me my parrot is dead?"

"Well" says the Vet "it would have been cheaper, but with the CAT Scan and the Lab Report…"
