Default are there any parents of adult bi-polar children?

hi,

I'm another new person here seeking someone else who is going through the continuing saga of an adult bi-polar child still very much stuck in the muck!

My daughter is 36 years old and continues to go from one relationship to the next, one job to the next and suffers a great deal from her own perception of life. Her anger and resentment towards me is "unfathomable", in her own words. Her children live with their father and the oldest is living with her other grandmother.

Her current situation has gone from poor to crises mode and i am, once again feeling the frustration of not being able to help her.

Hi,

Very few people are posting here. It is a quiet board.

There is very little you can do for her until she 1) recognizes the problem and 2) is motivated to change.
Get counseling for yourself. The counselor can help you with boundaries.

Hi Mari, is so right. She is giving you good thoughts.

I have an adult son, that has signs of adult bi-polar.

He has done very well with accepting his disability and is
working through his problems. He has set backs.

But we work through them.

I frequent the bi-polar board. Come on in there and join our discussion.
We can give you some thoughts and try to help you.

yes Mari I do agree my hands are tied so to speak.

I have been practicing acceptance and letting go for years! She will not get help or admit her problem, so you are right, there is so little I can do.

The boundary is not an issue as she lives across the country!

We will always welcome you in the bipolar forum.

Come visit and talk to us. There are a few in there with adult and younger
children with bi-polar.

Hi,
Do you ever get to see the grandchildren?

Sometimes things get bad enough that the person does seek out help.
