I went out to clear away the ugly drooped-over , decompossing fava plants on Monday (after a few warm days) . Much to my surprise & delight there were little new plants coming up from the roots. Favas are so resilient ! (Just like we need to be....we might be beat down with the cold storms of life, but we must stay rooted and grounded ...drawing strength from deep within and above ...so that we can grow again and flourish after adversity).
Stay warm "you-all" ...spring will come again! |

You have a positive attitude! Fava beans, like peas, are actually not a bean but are from the legume family. (but you probably already knew that)
I found this interesting article about fava beans from Kathryn Holder, Registered Dietitiann. its long , but full of great information: http://www.purifymind.com/FavaBeans.htm Keep smiling, Aunt Bean! Peg |

Thanks Peg...that is really good. I had read something Kathryn had written before about the favas, but, this was a much more comprehensive article.
I'm smiling! |
